UNIcert® in summer semester 2025

Requirements

All students who complete a respective language course at the ZFA at the end of the summer semester 2025 will be able to register for a UNIcert®-exam to acquire the certificate.

For the UNIcert®-examination and the issuing of the certificate, the ZFA charges
a fee of 35€.

The following UNIcert®-certifications are presumably being offered this semester:

• English
  • Level II: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course in July and an additional oral exam.
  • Level III: Certification based on an additional UNIcert® test
    Further information about the special requirements for English III can be found in the information sheet.
• French
  • Level I: Certification based on the final exam.
  • Level II: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course.
• Italian
  • Level I: Certification based on the final exam of the course and an additional oral exam.
• Dutch
  • Level I: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course.
• Portuguese
  • Level I: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course. The prerequisite is participation in courses (Portugiesisch B1.2: schriftliche Kommunikation) and (Portugiesisch B1: mündliche Kommunikation).
• Russian
  • Level Basis: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course.
• Swedish
  • Level I: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course.
• Spanish
  • Level I: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course.
  • Level II: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course.
• Turkish
  • Level Basis: Certification based on the regular final exam of the course. (provisionally offered)
    
     
  • The English III exams will take place on the following days:
    
    Monday, September 8, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM (oral exam)
    Tuesday, September 9, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM (oral exam)
    Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM (listening comprehension), 10:45 AM to 12:15 PM (reading comprehension) and 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM (writing)

UNIcert® at RUB

UNIcert® is a language testing and certification program that is offered across universities in Germany (Homepage). The UNIcert® certificates are recognized throughout Germany and the neighboring countries.

Currently, there are around 50 recognized institutions in Germany which offer UNIcert®. Since September 2018 UNIcert® is part of the Network of University Language Testers in Europe (NULTE) which is formed by further language-test offering institutions from Poland (UNIcert®LUCE and Acert), Spain (CertAcles), France (CLES), the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland (UNILANG). They commit themselves to improve academic education and certification of language skills.

Content of the UNIcert® program

The purpose of the UNIcert® program is to help students develop the ability to easily manage situations in an academic context in foreign languages and also to provide knowledge about general intercultural problems as well as the specific cultural habits of each country. The program also aims to prepare students for language requirements when starting their own professional or academic career.
