DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Certificate

You may acquire a DAAD language certificate at the ZFA as part of an application for a stay abroad of the DAAD program.

If a language certificate is required for a scholarship provider other than the DAAD, please contact us for further information!

Students of the English Philology or other philogogical degree programmes should obtain information from the relevant contact person at their institutes.

The date for the next DAAD-English test is Friday, 12 December 2025. You can sign up via the link above. 

Our first DAAD-English test of 2026 will take place on Thursday, 22 January 2026. 

Further test dates for the winter semester 25/26, presuambly in February and March 2026, will be announced here shortly. 

IMPORTANT NOTE for Bvmd and PROMOS applicants: please be aware that the evaluation and issuing of the certificate may take up to 10 working days. Therefore, please take the language test early enough to meet your application deadline!

The test for the DAAD language certificate is offered 10 times a year.

The fee for regular and guest students of RUB is 43.50 € and 56.00 € for external participants.

Students of the English seminar should contact the foreign counseling office of the English seminar (by e-mail to es-auslandsaufenthalt@rub.de or on site in room GB 6/134) to discuss the need for the language test.

French

The test for the DAAD language certificate is offered 4 times a year. The dates in 2026 are: 13.01.26 (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.), 03.02.26, 12.05.26 und 13.10.26, each day from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Prior registration (see registration form below) is required at least one week before the exam date.

Spanish

DAAD-Sprachzeugnis nach Belegung eines ZfA-Sprachkurses

Studierende, die einen niveaustufenspezifischen Sprachkurs* am ZFA absolviert haben, können auf dieser Grundlage ohne weitere Prüfung ein DAAD-Sprachzeugnis für die Sprachen Englisch, Französisch, Italienisch, Niederländisch, Russisch, Schwedisch und Spanish erhalten.

Obtaining a DAAD Language Certificate after Completing a ZfA Language Course

• Students who have completed a level-specific language course* at the ZFA may receive a DAAD language certificate for the languages English, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Swedish, and Spanish.

  The Following Requirements Apply:

• the course has been completed within the last two semesters;
• the target level of the course is A2 or higher;
• For courses targeting intermediate levels (e.g. A2/B1 or B2/C1) the respective lower level is usually certified;
• the final course grade is at least 3.0 (this regulation can be deviated from for intermediate levels);
• at least 60% have been achieved in each of the sub-competencies to be certified;
• the intended purpose (application for a stay abroad of the DAAD program) is sufficiently justified and documented.
