Application
Winter Semester 2024/2025
Dear students from other universities, Dear participants of the FWJ at RUB,
Grading will also take place online for the coming semester. Placement is always mandatory if you already have previous knowledge of the language of your choice. The dates, the technical requirements and the procedure can be found on the ZFA homepage in the section Placement Test. Please read the information on the above-mentioned page carefully!
Our courses take place in presence. Occasionally there are courses in blended learning format. This means that the courses take place either once a week for 180 minutes or twice a week for 90 minutes. Please be sure to check the course times before registering. These can be found in the RUB online course catalogue (link follows).
Attendance is compulsory for 75% of all course hours. You can find out more on the page Course participation.
The registration period starts on 09.09.2024 and ends on 10.10.2024(!), 12am. Later registrations may only be considered on a subordinate basis. Due to the school autumn holidays, the course starts between 14.10.2024 and 25.10.2024. For more detailed information, please refer to the RUB online course catalogue.

Restriction of courses for students of the HS Bochum: The HS has its own offer in the languages English and Spanish. These can therefore not be attended within the framework of the cooperation.

Participation in ZFA language courses is possible for a fee of 240€ per course with 4 semester hours and 120,- € for courses with 2 semester hours. The participation is only possible, as long as there are slots available after serving RUB students first. Registration is possible via the form located in the marginal column to the right.
Young University (Junge Uni)
School pupils have the opportunity to take part in our language courses and deepen and expand the language skills they have acquired at school. This offer is a cooperation with the SchülerUni.
